A Family Friendly Poetry Workshop

Parents and their children (7+) are invited to spend time together in the Wild Garden and capture what you each notice through poetry, observation and conversation. With welcoming and accessible prompts, this workshop presents an enjoyable way to get to know your children in a different way, and for them to know you.

Please bring a small notebook and two pens for each person.

Monica de la Haye is a poet living near Johnshaven. She is inspired by nature and her poems often grow out of the clever observations her young children make of the world around them. She believes passionately in the power of writing poetry to make us look and listen more carefully. Her work has been published in the Candyman’s Trumpet and she has recently put together a community poem for the Sea Change Project in Montrose, highlighting the impact of coastal erosion in the town.
