Health of the Sublime Exhibition

Carrie Fertig is a socially engaged interdisciplinary artist working in performance, video, sound, spoken word, and installation and is lead artist of Health of the Sublime, the Barn’s current exhibition that maps our experience of wellbeing in the natural world through the lens of climate change.
Focusing on the links between experiencing the Sublime in the natural world and how this emotional connection impacts our behaviour in protecting the places we love, Health of the Sublime maps our experience of wellbeing in the natural world through the lens of climate change. This body of work has been inspired by workshops, delivered as part of the project, on art in nature, writing and poetry, video and audio, and the creative use of virtual reality.
Health of the Sublime project is partnered with Mearns and Coastal Healthy Living Network; a charity supporting wellbeing for folk over 50 in and around Kincardineshire, with many activities happening in the Banchory area. The project is funded by Creative Scotland with support from The James Hutton Institute.
The exhibition is open Thursday – Saturday 10am – 4pm from Saturday 25th September to Saturday 24th October.
